Art

In my art I use and explore drawing and painting strategies in various media. I am looking for a richness of textural and structural visualisations. The poetic use of these elements displays issues of heterogeneity and differences on an abstract level.
My work is online at www.dominiquelaemmli.ch

Research

My research focuses on concepts of art. Together with Annemarie Bucher, I run a transdisciplinary research project on the functions of art in a global context (www.foa-flux.net). It focuses on global and glocal processes and changes in the (visual) arts. Its fields of research include Art Regions, Art Phenomena, Art as a Development Factor, Art Practice, The Role of Artists in Society, Painting in a Global Context, and the force field of Art, Ethics, and Global Challenges. Some of the research has been done for the Institute for Contemporary Art Research (IFCAR).
